Healthtalk Australia

Healthtalk Australia conducts research into people’s experiences of health and illness. Using rigorous research methods, they collect and analyse in-depth narratives from people experiencing various health or related conditions, as well as carers and health professionals. The interviews are used to produce innovative, publicly available health experience targeted online resources, including audio, video and textual clips.

Vision and mission

Healthtalk Australia is dedicated to improving the health of Australians by harnessing the power of patient /service user, carer and health professional stories. Their mission is to understand and improve health and social care for all Australians.

Healthtalk Australia is the only research-based digital repository of health and illness experiences in Australia.

Healthtalk Australia is also a member of DIPEx International, a network of researchers and digital content creators across 14 countries and 12 languages using the same approach to create research-based digital resources on over 200 health conditions.

How Healthtalk Australia can help

Healthtalk Australia use their findings to produce multi-media digital resources that provide insights to people’s personal experiences of their health condition, including what it’s like to receive a diagnosis, dealing with medicines and treatments, telling family and friends, communicating with health professionals. Their findings provide information and support and can assist with informed decision making.
