Bedroom

  • Cot (with a firm, tight-fitting mattress)
  • Bassinet Fitted sheets
  • Waterproof mattress protector Baby blankets
  • Comfortable chair
  • Lamp
  • Pillow for feeding
  • Change table
  • Chest of drawers or wardrobe
  • Baby monitor
  • Night light

Clothing

  • Jumpsuits (onesies)
  • Nappies (disposables or cloth)
  • Wraps (muslin or cotton)
  • Sleeping bag
  • Singlets
  • Tops and bottoms
  • Beanies

Nursery safety tips

  • Place your baby on their back to sleep
  • Don’t place pillows, toys or bumpers in the cot
  • Install a smoke alarm
  • Make sure furniture is anchored properly
  • Keep cords and blind strings away from the cot
