Quit Victoria

Quit Victoria is the main agency promoting a tobacco-free Victoria.

They are funded by VicHealth and the Department of Health and Human Services. As part of Cancer Council Victoria, they draw on Cancer Council resources and expertise. Quit Victoria works closely with the Heart Foundation (Victoria), other Cancer Councils and tobacco control organisations around Australia and internationally.

Quit Website, Quitline and Other Supports

Quit Victoria has a range of services, tools and information to help smokers to quit including information for health professionals.

You can access these via the Quit website.

The Quit website has lots of tips and tools to help people quit such as Your Quit Plan or Quitting Tips and Tactics.

You can also access QuitMail Quit’s email support service, QuitTxt Quit’s SMS support service and QuitCoach Quit’s tailored advice service.

Calling Quitline is one of the most effective ways to quit smoking.

Quitline is a welcoming, confidential telephone service that offers advice and information to help people quit.

Call Quitline on 13 7848

Quitline’s Quit Specialists understand that quitting is tough. Callers can ask to speak to an Aboriginal Quit Specialist. Quit Specialists can offer advice on quitting methods like nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products (such as patches or gum) or quitting medication.

Quitline is available from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday for the cost of a local call (except for mobile phones – normal charges apply).

  • If you are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can call the National Relay Service to access the Quitline
  • TTY users phone 13 3677 and ask for 13 7848
  • Speak & Listen users phone 1300 555 727 then ask for 13 7848
  • Internet relay users connect to the National Relay Service then ask for 13 7848
